The Child of an Ancient People

Deported to New Caledonia in 1872, Lislei, an Alsatian woman rescued from the turmoil of the Paris Commune, and Kader, an Arab prince, succeed in escaping aboard a ship bound for Australia. With them is an orphan boy, the last representative of his people, the Tasmanian Aboriginals.
